Very Sad News from Hope Mountain

Yet another boy from Hope Mountain has passed away... He wasn't just any boy. He was like my younger brother. Aside from family members, I've never lost anyone so close and important to me before. I don’t have all the information about his death, but he decided to go his own way and leave Hope Mountain. The reality for most of these boys is jail or death.

When I received this news, I was overwhelmed with grief! And it's been hard processing this as I am now in Thailand and doing ministry. I couldn’t skip ministry to grieve because I needed to spend time with the kids at the Christian International School, where we were telling Bible stories and playing games with them. They are absolutely adorable and full of love.

That morning I was on my knees praying, allowing the Holy Spirit to speak to me... I felt that He was saying for me to be filled with the Spirit... I didn't know that God was preparing me for what's to come. I had my quiet time and everything was going great. I had breakfast with the team and I felt that I needed to send a message to Aunt Corenne to see how things were going at Hope Mountain... And she gave me the news... I started weeping. After a while, I mustard up the courage to ask what happened... no one knows exactly what happened... There's just a lot of rumors...

It's hard not to have negative thoughts. He was unique, special, goofy and more... Yes, he had his issues like we all do... He was only 14... He would have turned 15 a few days ago.

Please lift everyone up at Hope Mountain, including the boys, the staff and Aunt Corenne and her family. We are all grieving... but grieving with Jesus is the only way that brings hope and comfort... Thank you all.

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Psalm 34:18
