Being a Servant
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.
These past couple of weeks have been crazy. God has been doing great things! He has provided special encounters and friendships! First, I was able to receive an American engineer/missionary and his translator. It was so cool to know them personally and really become their friend. We did almost everything together. I showed them around Hope Mountain, but also all around the city and more. We went on a beautiful hike, which we were able to see the whole city of Vitoria, Vila Velha and parts of Serra. Then I was able to connect him up to my friends whom I just met not long ago. That's why I really think God is working so much. Because even though my time here is coming to an end soon, God is still providing friendships for this transitioning season in my life.
Later, I was able to help with another university team from the States. It's a private Christian college called Jessup. Amazing young adults. I loved them so much. I feel like God is providing and showing me this new generation of God-lovers. And He's been touching my heart about this college ministry... maybe He will open doors for me to be able to be involved with some college ministry in the future.
I was also invited to a church to speak. It took me a day to get there and another day to come back. So, I was there for a little over 24 hours. The trip was so packed that by the end of the trip, I felt like I knew them all for a long time. The couple who hosted me just poured so much love into my life! And everyone was just so welcoming. People supported me with lots of prayer and even some finances which I wasn't expecting. His goodness is indeed chasing after me. There are no words to describe how blessed I felt! The time though short reconfirmed my conviction that God will answer and provide! Thank you all for your prayers and love.
Something that really touched me these past few weeks was that when I was really tired and not wanting to rehearse for the girls' dance and boys' play, the girls and the boys all encouraged me and pushed me to follow through with it. The costumes for the play were not cheap. My heart sunk when I had to pay. But God used this situation to reveal what was in my heart. And when I prayed and left it in God's hands, He gave me peace and I didn't feel anxious about it anymore. God is so good!
Prayer Requests:
1. The dance ministry. Please pray for all of us girls and ladies who are part of this ministry! It's a spiritual battle at times. Please pray that I can have wisdom to know how to lead and also who will continue to lead this ministry when I leave.
2. The American teams. Strength for all of the staff who are hosting the Americans. Cris, who is uncle Phil's secretary, pray that she will remain strong and healthy as she is very exhausted. Phil and Corenne - for their health and wisdom on how to lead these American teams. Me, as I help and translate.
3. The play for the boys. Last week went really well. Everyone loved the play. I invited some of the college Americans to help with the play as we didn't have enough people. They absolutely enjoyed it. This week, I will try and do it again. So please pray that everything will go well.
