Life Back in Brazil

 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. 
Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

    Being back has been great. I arrived in São Paulo after two days of travel. I went to JOCUM Casa to drop off a luggage. JOCUM Casa is the future ministry that I will be a part of. JOCUM is YWAM, Youth With A Mission. God has led me to move to São Paulo to serve at this YWAM base for the next two years. I'll be officially starting in July! I've volunteered there in January and February. And most of my things are there already. After resting for a day there, I took the bus back to Hope Mountain, the place where I've been for the past two years here in Brazil. I've decided to stay because I thought it would be good to volunteer here while six short-term mission teams from America will be at Hope Mountain in the months of May and June!

    I've been baking a lot. I made brownies as it was Corenne's birthday on April 24th. I returned to volleyball practice with the girls. There was a festival at Hope Mountain on the Saturday I got back, and it was good seeing everyone and talking to friends. My friend invited me to a Christian comedy show. I was worried if I wouldn't understand the jokes that much, but it turned out I understood 90%. I praise God for all these friendships. I've been baking cookies for the last 4 days for Bella's 17th birthday. I've baked over 200 sugar cookies with different shapes. Have you seen the TV show Outer Banks? That's the theme of the birthday party this year. As you can see with the photos below, it's gonna be awesome. I went to the Federal Police to get my visa renewed and thank God that went smoothly. I was supposed to pay about 50 US dollars as a fine for getting this done after the deadline. But the ladies there didn't even mention it and I didn't have to pay a single penny. The Lord is good to me! I've also been training a boy here at Hope Mountain with basketball. And that's been fun! Another interesting thing is I'm about to start a dance ministry at our Hope Mountain Church. I will need to train up another leader as I'll be leaving soon to São Paulo. But what a fun way to minister through dance as a form of worship! David danced in worship! 

    I'm continuing to seek God's will. I'm sure about the direction of my future, but not the details. My prayer request would be that as I seek God everyday, He will reveal to me how to do things His way because His ways are perfect, good, and pleasing to Him. May God receive all the glory and honor, forever! I don't know where exactly I'll live when I move to São Paulo, so please be praying about that as well! May God give me wisdom whether or not I should bring my dog! If I don't, he will stay at Hope Mountain. But I do plan on bringing him with me in the long run. Another prayer request would be the dance ministry with the girls. This is God's work, not mine. May this be glorifying to His holy name. And may our hearts be prepared and we can truly worship God with our spirit and with the truth. Discipleship will be a huge factor in this ministry because most of these girls are baptized but they have not truly encounter or know Jesus. May God give me wisdom and help my Portuguese to be clear enough for them to understand me.

    回來的感覺還不錯。經過兩天的旅行，我終於抵達聖保羅。我到 JOCUM Casa 放下一件行李，也分享了老婆餅及鳳梨酥給那裡的同工。JOCUM Casa 是我未來要服事的事工。JOCUM 就是青年使命團。神帶領我搬到聖保羅，未來兩年將在此青年使命團服事。我將在七月正式開始！我已經在一月和二月當志工，也認識那裡不少的同工，大部分東西都已經搬到那裡了。在青年使命團這裡休息了一天之後，我搭了18個小時的巴士回到我舊的事工地點，稱為希望之山，也就是我過去兩年待的地方，它是服事高風險青少年的半途之家。我之所以決定留下來，是因為在五六月這兩個月，將有六個來自美國的短宣隊會來希望之山，所以想說可以提供協助。

    我這兩個禮拜烤了超多東西，多到自己都覺得我應該是個烘焙師吧！我做了布朗尼，因為 4 月 24 日是 Corenne 的生日，Corenne是我寄宿家庭的媽媽。除此之外，我繼續和這裡的青少女一起打排球，我們有個排球隊，這像是藉由運動來與這些女孩們建立關係然後傳福音。我回來的那個星期六，在希望之山有一個義賣的活動，很高興又再次見到大家，也很高興和朋友們聊天。我的朋友邀請我去看基督教喜劇表演。那時候我很擔心自己會不會聽不懂笑話，但結果我聽懂了 90%。過去五天我一直在烤餅乾，為了 Bella 的 17 歲生日，她是Corenne的女兒。我烤了超過 200 個不同形狀的餅乾。你看過電視劇《外灘探秘》嗎？那就是今年生日派對的主題。從下面的照片可以看出來，一定會很棒的。我去了聯邦警察局更新我的簽證，感謝上帝，一切都很順利。我本來要付 50 美元的罰款，因為我在截止日期後才辦理。但是那裡的工作人員根本沒提到這件事，最後我一分錢也不用付。主對我真好！我正在希望山訓練一個打籃球的男孩，還蠻好玩的！另一件有趣的事是，我即將在希望山教會開始舞蹈事工。我需要訓練另一位領袖，因為我很快就要離開去聖保羅。但是透過舞蹈這種敬拜方式來服事，是多麼有趣的一件事！大衛也有用舞蹈來敬拜。

    我正在持續地尋求神的旨意。我確定未來的方向，但不確定細節。我的代禱事項是，當我每天尋求神時，祂會啟示我如何以祂的方式做事，因為祂的方式是既完全又美好的。願神得著一切的榮耀和尊嚴，直到永遠！我不知道搬到聖保羅後會住在哪裡，所以也請您為此禱告！願神賜給我智慧，讓我決定是否要帶我的狗到聖保羅！如果我不帶，牠就得留在希望之山。但我打算長期帶著牠。另一個代禱事項是關於舞蹈事工。這是神的工作，不是我的，願這能榮耀祂的名。願我們的心能預備好，能真正在靈裡用真理敬拜神。門徒訓練是這項事工的重要因素，因為這些女孩都已受洗，但她們並未真正認識耶穌，對神的了解很少。願神賜我智慧，幫助我的葡萄牙文。

Last night we had our first introduction to the dance ministry. 3 girls and some boys didn't make it. The Holy Spirit truly worked through me because my Portuguese was exceptional!!! 
Praise the Lord!
昨天晚上是我們第一次一起聚在一起介紹什麼是敬拜舞蹈，幾個青少年及女孩沒來。但感謝聖靈，因為祂讓我的葡萄牙文非常流利及清楚。感謝神！！！

As the teams left, more teams came. The team from Indiana is our friends. They had 19 people. It was everyone on their church's mission board. And they brought their kids with them. It was a wonderful experience. Definitely exhausting but super fun serving them and serving God in being their friend and translator. We helped build a gazebo! We did a special dinner for Valentine's Day for the boys. We played Legos and helped with the swim classes for our new kids program at Hope Mountain. I had a fun time.
