But he said to her, “You speak as one of the [spiritually] foolish women speaks [ignorant and oblivious to God’s will]. Shall we indeed accept [only] good from God and not [also] accept adversity and disaster?” In [spite of] all this Job did not sin with [words from] his lips.
Job 2:10 Amplified Bible
I feel like December came so soon!!! I still have Christmas from 2023 in my head. This year has gone by super fast. We came back from the States and we jumped right back into working on Bella’s schoolwork. We had expected visitors during Christmas and New Year, so we wanted to get everything done before Christmas. We tried our best but friends from the States arrived so soon and we turned all our attention to celebrating Christ’s birth in this special season with special people.
We put together the boys’ and the kids’ stockings, filling them up with all sorts of goodies like candy, chips, and a soda. We went to two church services and one of them really stood out to me. The Christmas play didn’t have Jesus, Mary or Joseph at all! The play was about Isaiah and him meeting the angel. It was about Isaiah prophesying the birth of the Messiah and that through Him, there will be restoration for all with His hope, joy and peace. I’ve never seen a Christmas play like that before so I was so touched! That might’ve been my favorite part of Christmas for 2024.
After Christmas, we went on a trip with the Alte’s. They are our friends from Indiana. We went to Cabo Frio, which is in Rio. The beach is very beautiful. I was able to run and do my quiet time at the beach or near the beach. We stayed at an Air BnB that was in front of the beach. We went to multiple beaches and had a great time. We were even able to jump off a little rock and that was fun!!!
December is never easy for me as I often get homesick. But God continues to be gracious to me as I create new memories with others! Praise the LORD!
P.S. I chose this Bible verse because this spoke to me a lot when I was doing my personal devotion. I have nothing to complain about. How can I allow God to continue to work in me that I may be like Job who didn’t sin with his lips in the face of suffering. And it’s true! How can we only receive the good things and not accept the sufferings and disasters? I pray that I can continue to grow in faith and continue to choose to put my trust in God as I walk with God in His will and purposes.
I also made a fundraising video for our volleyball team. You are welcomed to check it out! It'll allow you to see more of what I do.
Vacation time with the Smith's, the Alte's, Neide and Ana.
Here are pics from Christmas!
I spent so much time with Ana that I felt like we were literally sisters!
What do you guys think? Do we look like sisters, here?
We had a special Christmas breakfast, of course, with waffles and stuff. The boys loved it.
