Very Sad News from Hope Mountain

Yet another boy from Hope Mountain has passed away... He wasn't just any boy. He was like my younger brother. Aside from family members, I've never lost anyone so close and important to me before. I don’t have all the information about his death, but he decided to go his own way and leave Hope Mountain. The reality for most of these boys is jail or death.      When I received this news, I was overwhelmed with grief! And it's been hard processing this as I am now in Thailand and doing ministry. I couldn’t skip ministry to grieve because I needed to spend time with the kids at the Christian International School, where we were telling Bible stories and playing games with them. They are absolutely adorable and full of love.     That morning I was on my knees praying, allowing the Holy Spirit to speak to me... I felt that He was saying for me to be filled with the Spirit... I didn't know that God was preparing me for what's to come. I had my quiet time ...

And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:8     Thank you all for your prayers and support. Thank you for your generous donations, allowing the kids to watch a movie and eat popcorn, and have pizza, ice cream, and noodles! It definitely made the week for the children. I'm sure they won't forget the goodness and love that God has for them. We were also able to give the staff a break as we took the kids out to the field and played games with them. I brought the bracelet materials and we made bracelets every day. I was able to tell a Bible story to them about Peter walking on water. It was really fun and blessed in every way! The leader of the orphanage had a friend who has a huge boat. So we took the kids on a boat ride. Even though that day was raining, the kids still had a marvelous time. Praise God!!!     We've now concluded our tr...

All peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring. ” Genesis 28:14      These past two weeks, I’ve been focusing on serving with the refugee ministry with my leader, Marlon. I’ve also been a volunteer every day for the first week of September for the 11th World Meeting of Visual Impairment. I was able to meet many outstanding individuals from the States, Jordan, Myanmar, Nepal, Malaysia and Lesotho. I learned so much from this experience and every day I looked forward to seeing them. They don’t complain. They are patient. They need a lot of help. Without sight, it is hard to find their way. There were over 190 nations and many of them were in Brazil for the first time. Unfortunately, most of the volunteers didn’t speak another  language other than Portuguese. So, many of the participants felt helpless....

Simply The Story

You trampled the sea with Your horses, the surging of mighty waves. I hear, and my body trembles; my lips quiver at the sound; rottenness enters into my bones; my legs tremble beneath me. Yet I will quietly wait for the day of trouble to come upon people who invade us. Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, Yet I will rejoice in the LORD ; I will take joy in the God of my salvation. GOD, the Lord, is my strength ; He makes my feet like the deer's; He makes me tread on my high places. To the choirmaster: with stringed instruments. Habakkuk 3:15-19     These past few weeks I've been traveling and working a lot. I rested after EMF. You can check out my last blog to read up on it. I rested for about 2 weeks. I officially moved to São Paulo, so I was trying to settle in and rest. I'll admit, it was really hard. Because I...
